Pendulum creates signature works that distill and deliver what has been described by the media as "intertwined disciplines of dance, theater and seeming weightlessness … an awe-inspiring experience", and"inherently peaceful and mesmerizing!"
Using various aerial apparatus such as trapeze, hoop, aerial silk, and countless other ways to suspend themselves in air, the multi-talented and captivating company, along with numerous collaborating performers, delight in bringing audiences joy , transporting them into the invigorating world of aerial arts, dance, and theater. The company has entertained for many corporate clients which include Nike, Fuji Film, The Yoshida Group, Asia Entertainment, Doctor Marten Shoes, The Seattle Study Club and Portland Monthly Magazine. Pendulum also works extensively in the non-profit sector providing entertainment to a broad range of charitable organizations.
Pendulum’s artistic mission and goals are guided by the principle that holds art to be essential to the growth and development of a community. Invoking artistic excellence in performance, youth outreach, and community performances, Pendulum contributes to Portland’s maturing art community. Pendulum has worked to independently cultivate a company that has emerged as one of the rising visionary arts organizations in the nation.

Artistic Director Suzanne Kenney has been bringing joy to Portland for over a decade with her distinctive blend of dance, theatre, art, and sheer entertainment. She fuses aerial ballet with acrobatics, storytelling, and live music to transcend the boundaries of a traditional art form. Her work integrates performance diversity, creating displays of breathtaking beauty, daring athleticism, and searing passion. With her artistically rich background in Theatre, Dance, Voice, and Costume Design, Ms. Kenney leads a company dedicated to innovative concepts in performance.
